The stress-free holistic environment will give you the opportunity to slow down, go deep into your yoga practice, and meet new like-minded people. All ages are welcome. Some experience with yoga or another form of physical exercise is recommended. The lessons are taught in English or Dutch depending on the nationalities in the group.

Lara is a certified yoga teacher from Amsterdam. Her teaching is based on 20 years of yoga experience and her passion for Portugal for more than 40. This yoga holiday will be all about the dynamics of VINYASA YOGA and mantra meditation. The morning sessions are more yang and active and the evening sessions more yin and relaxing. Every class contains mantras, mantra music, practical yoga philosophy, physical adjustments, props, pranayama, and meditation. There will be room for yoga at the wall, PARTNER YOGA, Thai massage, as well as the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences. Playing yoga outside on the beach will be in the mix as well!

Between 11 am and 5 pm you’re free to discover the Algarve, have lunch wherever you like or indulge in a siesta. You can also use this time to treat yourself on one of the holistic treatments at Villa Prana or get a private yoga consult with Lara. We’ll be happy to advise you.

Villa Prana is located on a nice avenue in the center of Portimão. This holistic center has a beautiful yoga studio, two changing rooms, three treatment rooms for massage and other therapies and even a small shop with yoga pants and ayurvedic supplements. On the first floor, you’ll find the guesthouse with the dining room and the living room that is converted during the retreat as a second yoga studio. The guesthouse has five bedrooms with 17 sleeping places. The rooms are comfortable and bright, with ample storage space and plenty of outside spots for sunbathing.

The love, feng shui, and prana (vital energy) that have been put in this project by the lovely couple Silvia and David are pleasantly tangible. Peace and well-being overtake you as soon as you put a foot in the door. That’s why, as a yoga student and teacher, I find Villa Prana the perfect place for yoga travelers who want to deepen their yoga practice during their holiday in a sunny location.

Portimão is the second largest city of the Algarve and is located at the estuary of the river Arade. It has a beautiful promenade, a marina and it’s surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches. Portimão is not a cosmopolitan hotspot or very touristy like the nearby Praia da Rocha.
But this is the charm of the old fishing town. Here you will meet the real Algarvians and eat for a little in one of the various cafes and restaurants.
