Dear students and friends,

we invite you to our summer yoga retreat that will take place in beautiful Pelion, working on the quality of Santosha.
How can this quality be developed through the challenges and adversities of life?
Santosha means fullness, satisfaction and is one of the 5 niyamas of Patanjali's Raja Yoga.
It is a synthesis of the words Sam (complete) and Tosha (acceptance - completeness) that give us the map to discover it.
Actually there is no other place and time to find it than here and now.
We tend to believe that there is something or someone outside of us, which makes us feel the way we feel, and that we must eradicate negative thoughts and feelings.
This is creating ongoing conflict and separation within ourselves.
The crucial point is to look within and cultivate acceptance towards one's thoughts and feelings. Then it is possible to stop fighting negativity, praising positivity and realize that everything is one.
It is then that Santosha blossoms.

The seminar will be hosted at Iliohoos, School of Simple Living, located in the small village of Kalamos, right by the sea.

While exploring the surrounding area, either on foot or by car, we will meet many small private beaches right and left of the settlement.
There, we will be able to swim without many people around even though it will be the middle of the summer.
Another feature of the area are the many beautiful marked stone paths where we can go walking, including the path that connects Kalamos with the village of Argalasti that can be walked in about an hour and the path that connects Kalamos with the Paou's monastery.

Iliohoos consists of a central building with 10 rooms, a restaurant and a closed room with a wooden floor of about 60 sq. meters. All of them are right on the beach.
In a very quiet enclosure between century-old olive trees, there are two platforms with wooden floors, about 100 sq.m. each. Iliohoos can also provide us with cushions, blankets and wooden seats for meditation. We advise you to bring your own yoga mat. The accommodation is simple. All rooms have their own bathroom, a terrace or a balcony. Many have a sea view, the rest a view of the garden and most are on the beach. There are numerous other rooms/apartments around the central building (1 to 5 minute walk) and depending on the number of people attending the retreat, we may use some of them as well. These have a kitchenette and basic cooking equipment. Iliohoos will provide us with breakfast and dinner right by the sea, preparing the food with fresh vegetables and fruits. If you have any special dietary requirements you can let us know when you fill in the registration form.
